1 Introduction & Scope
Welcome to the Nawaity Dictionary (نوايتی ڈکشنری) mobile application, developed and published by M M Info Care ("we", "our", or "us"). Nawaity Dictionary is a digital linguistic resource created to document, preserve, and promote the rich heritage of the Nawaity (Nawayathi) language.
This Privacy Policy explains how our Android application, accessible via the Google Play Store, handles user data. We are deeply committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of all our users worldwide.
Core Principle: Nawaity Dictionary is designed as a standalone linguistic utility. We believe in minimal data collection: the app functions without requiring any personal account, registration, or private credentials.
2 Information We Do NOT Collect
To ensure full transparency and compliance with Google Play Developer Policies and global privacy regulations (such as GDPR and CCPA), we explicitly confirm that Nawaity Dictionary DOES NOT collect, store, transmit, or share any of the following:
- No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not collect your name, email address, postal address, phone number, national ID, or date of birth.
- No Account Credentials: There is no user registration or login system in the mobile app.
- No Precise or Approximate Geolocation: The application does not request GPS, Wi-Fi location, or cell-tower triangulated location data.
- No Financial or Payment Information: The app does not process payments or collect credit/debit card numbers.
- No Biometric or Health Data: We do not access fingerprint sensors, facial recognition, camera, or microphone sensors.
- No Contacts, SMS, or Call Logs: The application never reads your address book, messages, or phone state.
3 Information Handled & Purpose of Use
When using Nawaity Dictionary, only the minimum technical data necessary for application functionality and dictionary synchronization is processed:
A. Local App Preferences & Bookmarks
User preferences (such as your preferred display theme, font size, and bookmarked/favorite words) are stored strictly locally on your device using Android Jetpack Preferences and local SQLite database. This information never leaves your device and is never uploaded to any remote server.
B. Dictionary Database Updates
To provide up-to-date translations, phonetics, and grammatical notes, the application periodically queries our secure API endpoint (https://api.mminfocare.com/api/dictionary/version) to check if a new word version is available.
- Technical Handshake: During this query, standard server transmission logs (such as public IP address, HTTP user agent, and timestamp) are processed temporarily by our web server firewall to deliver the dictionary payload.
- No User Profiling: These logs are used solely for network transmission security, DDoS mitigation, and server reliability. They are never linked to personal identities.
4 Device Permissions Explained
In accordance with Google Play's Data Safety and permission declaration policies, here is an exhaustive description of all permissions requested by the Nawaity Dictionary Android application:
| Permission | Type | Purpose & Justification |
|---|---|---|
android.permission.INTERNET |
Normal | Allows the application to check for dictionary database revisions and download new word packages from our secure API. |
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE |
Normal | Enables the application to check whether an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection exists before initiating dictionary synchronization. |
Zero Sensitive Permissions: The application does NOT request camera, microphone, contacts, location, storage (external/media), or phone state permissions.
5 Offline Data Storage & Encryption
Nawaity Dictionary is built on an offline-first architecture:
- The complete dictionary dataset is bundled with the application or downloaded once upon initial setup.
- All search operations (Nawaity script, Romanized transcription, and English/Urdu translations) execute 100% locally on your smartphone.
- All network communication with our synchronization endpoint utilizes industry-standard HTTPS (TLS 1.2 / TLS 1.3) encryption in transit.
6 Third-Party Services & Advertising
We do not partner with third-party data brokers or behavioral advertisers.
- No Advertising SDKs: Nawaity Dictionary contains no commercial advertisements, popups, or programmatic ad networks (such as Google AdMob, Unity Ads, or Meta Audience Network).
- Google Play Services: The application is distributed via Google Play Store and relies on Google Play Core libraries for standard application distribution and automatic store updates. Google's privacy practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
7 Children's Privacy (COPPA & Google Families)
Nawaity Dictionary is an educational and linguistic reference tool suitable for general audiences of all ages, including children, students, and language enthusiasts.
We strictly comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families Policy:
- We do not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).
- If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through any communication channel, please contact us immediately, and we will promptly delete that information from our records.
8 Data Retention & User Deletion Rights
Under applicable data protection frameworks (including the GDPR, CCPA, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act):
- Local Data Removal: Because all search history, favorite words, and settings are stored locally on your device, you have complete control over your data. You can delete all data instantly by opening your device's Settings > Apps > Nawaity Dictionary > Storage > Clear Storage / Clear Data, or by uninstalling the application.
- Right to Inquire: Users may contact us at any time to inquire about data handling practices or request information.
9 Security Safeguards
We implement appropriate administrative and technical safeguards to ensure that dictionary distribution servers remain secure:
- Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS) for all data in transit.
- Hardened backend architecture with blocked direct HTTP directory indexing and protected server-side endpoints.
- No database connection strings, credentials, or administrative tables are exposed to the client application.
10 Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app improvements or regulatory updates. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of the document.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the application following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
